Light my fire, or just my book

I have been needing a lamp for the corner of my living room so I ran to my favorite thrift store. I had two options. A brass swivel floor lamp (boring) or this ugly guy. The other one wasn't bad but a little too traditional for my taste. So the ugly option came home with me for $5.00. It reminded me of one my sister in law purchased at Home Depot for her craft room. I love her lamp!

Spray paint can do such amazing things! I sprayed it black and purchased a new lamp shade to complete it. I'm in love with it now! If only I was a book worm and could curl up and read in this sport. Maybe one day I will be able to sit still long enough to finish a whole book. Have you guys come across any ugly thrift store lamps turned beautiful? Sometimes they can surprise you.

2 side tables and a microphone

Spoiler alert...there is no microphone. Just two side tables and a Beck song stuck in my head. Sorry to burst your bubble. On top of my frames I love to do furniture redo's. Here are two of my latest projects. I found the one on the left by the side of the road screaming for a makeover. The mid century side table was a $5.00 thrift store find.

After many hours, days, and hand cramps I finally had these beauty's.

Have you guys been up to any furniture painting? How many have a piece that needs to be done but you cant stop procrastinating? I had these two side tables in my garage for months.

What to say...what to say? What does a person say on their very first blog post? Am I nuts for posting on my blog that has zero followers? Well, you have to start some time. Might as well jump in with both feet. So I am jumping! Jumping with my mind full of my hopes, dreams and goals. Who knows where this adventure will take me? Maybe nowhere. Maybe some where amazing. Either way I promise to always enjoy the ride, to allow this massive drive inside of me to finally have its way and to always do what I love!
